

Dan Hatt, IALD, LEED AP
Dan is a senior designer at Peterson Guadagnolo Consulting Engineers PC, specializing in lighting, electrical power, telecommunications, and fire alarm systems. He joined the firm in 2002 and has since led design efforts on more than 50 major higher education renovation projects.
Recently, Dan was the principal designer for lighting, electrical, telecom, fire alarm, and electronic security systems in a $50 million renovation of a university student center completed in 2021. He also designed a cutting-edge eSports suite with advanced lighting systems and is currently completing a second suite.
His portfolio includes projects in high-rise dormitories, historic buildings, science buildings, office buildings, and sports arenas—including interior and exterior lighting for the JMA Dome in Syracuse, NY.
Outside of higher education, Dan has led industrial plant renovations involving complete electrical service replacements, arc flash hazard analyses, and large-scale medium voltage coordination studies. He has also designed numerous emergency generator installations.
Dan holds a B.A. in Theater with a focus on lighting and technical design from The College of Wooster in Ohio. Before joining Peterson Guadagnolo, he worked on high-profile theatrical and entertainment productions at Walt Disney World, the Huntington Theater (Boston, MA), and the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.
He is a Professional Member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (2023), a Certified Lighting Designer (2025), LC certified by the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (2009), a LEED Accredited Professional (NC 2.2), and a NICET Level III Fire Alarm Systems Engineering Technologist.
